Coroner's Office: Three John and Jane Doe Cases Identified

Because of advancements in fingerprint search systems, Kim Gillis, a deputy with Sacramento County Coroner’s office who works their unidentified cold cases, has been resubmitting fingerprints to state and federal agencies hoping for a match. In June 2009, she was notified of a successful match on the first case. Two other matches soon followed.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is seeking help from the public in generating attention for their most recent case of an unidentified adult male.  The man’s skeletal remains were found on June 10, 2006.  Efforts to identify him through traditional forensics could not lead to a positive identification due to the advanced state of decomposition.
